PAP Session Programme

Ninth ordinary session of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) will be held from May 05 - 16, 2008 in South Africa. The draft programme includes debates on:

1. peace and security in Africa, focusing on: Darfur, Sudan; the Great Lakes Region; Cote d’Ivoire; Chad; Somalia; and Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic – Western Sahara

2. the report of the audit of the African Union by a panel of eminent persons.

3. the EU-Africa Strategy and the report of the Second EU-Africa Summit; the Economic Partnership Agreements and their impact on integration in Africa.

4. the reports of the APRM Country Reviews and the progress of the APRM process.

Further, PAP will consider the reports of the Election Observer Missions to Kenya, December 23 to 30, 2007 and Zimbabwe, March 22 to April 02, 2008 as well as that on the food crisis in Africa.
