African Ministerial Conference on Science and Technology
(Press Release)-The Third Ordinary session of the African Ministerial Conference on Science and Technology (AMCOST III) is scheduled to take place from the 12-16 November 2007 in Mombassa, Kenya.Organised by the Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology (HRST) of the African Union Commission, the Conference is aimed at brainstorming on the Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA) implementation strategy.
The meeting would hold in two phases: The Expert Meeting is expected to take place from the 12 – 13 November 2007 while the Ministerial Meeting would take place from the 15 – 16 November 2007.
Discussions at the Third Ordinary session of the African Ministerial Conference on Science and Technology would include:
- Presentation of the Institutional Framework of the African Ministerial Conference On Science and Technology (AMCOST)
- Presentation of the Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action Implementation Strategy
- Presentation at the regional level the Implementation of Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action
- Discussion on the Progress Report on Research Policy Framework, Capacity Building for the African Policymakers and the Formation of the Pan African Intellectual Property Organization, and
- Presentation of the Outcomes of the African Regional Workshop on Risk Assessment and Risk Management of Living Modified Organisms.
