AU Committee Meeting on Union Government
(Press Release)- As a follow up to the implementation of the Accra Declaration on the Union Government, the Third Meeting of the African Union Ministerial Committee on the Union Government is scheduled to hold from the 27th to 28th November 2007, at the headquarters of the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting, under the chairmanship of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Ghana and Chairperson of the African Union Executive Council, H.E. Hon. Akwasi Osei Adjei, is aimed at Brainstorming on ways and means by which to enhance the prospect and aspiration of achieving the United States of Africa. The First meeting of the Ministerial Committee on the Union Government was held on the margin of the United Nations General Assembly on 29 September 2007 in New York, and the Second meeting of the Ministerial Committee took place from the 27th to 28th September 2007 in Accra, Ghana.
The outcome of the meeting would be submitted to the Executive Council to make appropriate recommendations to the next Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
The African Union Ministerial Committee on the Union Government is made up of Foreign Affairs Ministers drawn from ten (10) African countries, two per region, representing the five regions of the continent.

- Ethiopia (East)
- Uganda (East)
- Botswana (Southern)
- South Africa (Southern)
- Cameroon (Central)
- Gabon (Central)
