Kadhafi on Peace and Security with AUC Officials
(PANA)--Libyan leader and Chairman of the African Union (AU), Mouammar Kadhafi Sunday met with officials of the AU Commission (AUC) on peace and security issues in the African continent at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
PANA reports that legal issues related to the ratification by member countries of AU protocols and conventions and budget issues were also considered. According to diplomatic sources in Addis Ababa, Kadhafi reviewed with AUC the issue on monitoring the implementation of decisions made at the 12th AU summit held in the Ethiopian capital in February. The meeting also helped to address preparations for the extraordinary meeting of AU executive council to be devoted to the review of provisions for the transformation of AUC into a Federal Authority, as well as preparations for the next AU summit, the sources said.
The Libyan leader arrived in the country on Saturday where he held discussions with Ethiopian Premier Meles Zenawi and AUC Chairman Jean Ping on various African issues. He left the Ethiopian capital Sunday for Doha, Qatar to attend the 21st ordinary summit of the Arab league to be held 30-31 March.
