Conference of African Ministers of Integration
(PANA)--African ministers in charge of integration are expected to meet Thursday in Yaoundé, Cameroon, as part of the fourth edition of the Conference of African Ministers of Integration (COMAI IV) on the theme ‘Partnerships and Integration in Africa’.
The opening session of the fourth edition of the conference of Ministers in charge of Integration (COMAI), jointly organised by the African Union Commission and the Cameroonian government, will be attended by the host country’s Prime Minister, head of the government and representative of the country’s head of State. The vice-president of the African Union Commission, Erastus Mwencha and Commissioner for Economic Affairs Dr. Maxwell M. Mkwezalamba, will represent the institution at the conference.
Representatives of Regional Economic Communities (REC), of the United Nations Economic Community for Africa (UNECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the European Union (EU) and the International Labour Organisation (IL0) will attend the conference as well. To date, three meetings have been held, with the first held on 30 and 31 March, 2006 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; the second on 26 and 27 July, 2007 in Kigali, Rwanda and the third held from 19 to 23 May 2008 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
