Invitation to Participate in AU Audit Review

Dear Citizens of Africa,

As the Chairperson of the High Level Panel, I invite you to participate in the independent performance review of the African Union over the next month. The background, terms of reference and composition of the Panel are summarised below for your attention.

Over the next four months, we will be seeking analysis, opinions and constructive criticism from the AU and its Specialised agencies, regional inter-governmental agencies, AU member-states and civil society organisations on how well the African Union has performed and what areas of significant improvement are required in order to accelerate the African integration process.

We are working to a tight schedule and plan to have the first drafts for October 26. Any submissions that come before this deadline will be used in the writing of this first draft. Any submissions that come after October 26 will be used in developing subsequent drafts.

I look forward to hearing your voice and views on how well the African Union is doing in its quest to enable a more peaceful, prosperous and integrated Africa.
