Centre for Citizens’ Participation in the AU
The Centre for Citizens’ Participation in the African Union (CCP-AU) is organizing a continental conference on the African union summit to be held on January 23rd and 24th 2008.
The main objective of this continental conference is to create a platform where structured debate and collation of views will be made among stakeholders across the continent focusing on issues of the Union Government, the performance review of the AU, Peace & Security, EPAs and other eventual issues on the Summit agenda. The Continental Conference will present a communiqué including CSOs’ to delegations attending the Summit.
By the end of the conference the participants will:
- Discuss on the above issues and issue common communiqué/declaration that will be used as a lobbying tool to influence the decision-making processes of the 10th Ordinary Summit
- Discuss and agree on common collaborative efforts and strategies towards ensuring the meaningful involvement of the citizens of Africa into the entire decision making process of the African Union
The continental conference will be held at Ghion Hotel, Addis Ababa on January 23rd and 24th 2008.
