Gambia EFA Network to hold Child Assembly at AU Summit

Following a request by ANCEFA to have a slot in the AU Summit so that Civil Society voices can be heard on the AU assembly to be held in the Gambia in July 9th 2006, the Gambia EFA Network in collaboration with its partners(AA, CEF, Gambia Teachers Union, FAWE°) will hold a one day Child’sassembly to add children’s voices to the call for EFA.

The event will take place on the 29th June 2006 and participants will be drawn from the following organisations:

A lobby team has been put in place in order to have a slot for children in
the first pleanry of the AU and make their call for access and equity to
quality education for all, this event is part of the year round campaign
“every child need a quality teacher” too.
