AU Condemns Chad Rebel Attack
(PANA)—The African Union Commission has condemned in strong words, the attacks launched by some rebel groups against the Chadian army.
The condemnation was contained in a news release by the AU Commission headquarters, made available to the PANA here Monday, in which the commission also reitera t ed its rejection in line with the Lome Declaration of July 2000 and the AU constitutive act on any power taken by anti-constitutional means.
Rebel forces resumed hostilities against the Chadian national army since Wednesday, 11 June in the eastern part of the country.
The development contradicted the efforts currently undertaken to launch again, the process of dialogue between Chad and the rebel forces and to promote peace and stability in the region.
