Ending Africa’s Food Crisis

Tarjei Kidd Olsen (IPS)--Africa’s food crisis can be alleviated by modernising agriculture and reforming supply chains so that small-scale farmers get cheaper fertiliser and high-yield seeds, experts and officials at a conference in Oslo have argued. But so far, they say, funding is lacking.

African Development Summit in New York

(APA)--The United Nations Under-Secretary-General Cheick Sidi Diarra, the UN special adviser on Africa, on Friday told a press conference that Monday’s high-level meeting in New York on African development is expected to be attended by representatives of more than 160 countries, including many world leaders.
