(AllAfrica)--The leaders of the world’s 20 biggest economies, recognising that the global financial crisis has ‘a disproportionate impact’ on vulnerable people in poor countries, have promised to make hundreds of billions of United States dollars available to these countries as part of a $1.1 trillion plan to rescue the world economy.

(ISS)--Africa’s post-colonial history is plagued with unconstitutional changes of government, principally through the staging of military coups. The last eight months have seen the governments of three African countries being toppled by military officers (i.e. Mauritania, 6 August 2008, Guinea, 23 December 2008, Madagascar, 17 March 2009), while some other changes in government across the continent have, strictly interpreted, also been unconstitutional.
