Love is all around me because:Friends are all around me

Hey there girls,
I am glad that it is yet another week for us to blog.This week we shall blog about the people around us.
Week after week, we encourage you to be creative and I am really hoping this week that we shall see
some creativity.In addition, I would like to inform you about three new mentors who will be working with us on the project blog.
They will be online mentors,there names are Rachel,Jayne and Paula.
they will introduce themselves to you through the project blog.I hope you look forward to
blogging with them and receiving the much needed mentoring.

The people around me

The people around me could mean so many things.For instance,it could be family or friends,neighbours,enemies
or simply just fellow Kenyans.I choose to talk about friends because friends play such a vital role in our lives.
I know for sure and if you don’t think so,take a look at your life and just realize what friends can really be to you.
I love to use poetry to express myself so that is just what I will do today.Enjoy

my friend,
for the times you’ve
seen me through
for the times you made me smile
and for the times you made me
realize that I
am a work of art.

This is for you

for the things you have lost,
those that you will never find
for time you have spent
just hanging with me,
for making me realize that I
am priceless.

This is for you
my friend,
for all the times I have not
been there for you,
for all the times I
have been selfish,rude
and conceited
for making me realize that I
am capable of being love.

Around me

Around me is pain,
Around me is sorrow,
Hope is gone, suffering constant,
I feel confined and without impact,
I want to get away,
Pretend none of this is happening around me.

As a social worker, everyday I meet new people who are in need of help and are going through the unspeakable. Its so sad when there is little you can do to assist everyone and help them live better lives. Due to the work that I am doing I have learnt how to appreciate those around me and build positive relationships with all those around me.

So often we let our environments affect the work that we are doing, our veiws on life and how we treat other people. As much as it is hard to learn to treat people as individuals we must learn to also get the best out of all those we interact with and black out the negative energy coming our way!

You would be surprised at how much of a difference this would make in your life!
