My BAWo experience so far
My name is Sandra Bwire, currently I am an intern with Fahamu ,Kenya.I am at the moment also a student pursing my Bachelors Degree in Development Studies.I am one of the facilitators being trained for the BAWo initiative Kenya Chapter.
One thing i can promise you is that it is as interesting and fun as it sounds on paper. Its a new experience for me and well i love it.Its a way of reaching out to millions of people (sharing and exchanging information and ideas). If you think technology is just another thing well think again.Technology is at its peak and well it may not seem like a promising idea to some at the moment but well what can i say “give it time and maybe just maybe it will turn out to be the greatest thing ever”.I have had a couple of arguments with some people and they really wanted to know how blogging is helping out women especially in those in the rural areas.
Well, lets all be open-minded for one it doesn’t matter where women are located .This is because women everywhere suffer the same plight of inequality just because they are women.Sad isn’t it?For those who can can blog and spread vital information that can assist in any way then so be it.Secondly,we can’t all be the same,we all have a unique way of empowering women .Some people use sports, others use plays, others comedy and others use the internet blogging inclusive.
So my message to all is you are looking for a way to say showcase your work then you should try blogging and to all bloggers let’s get blogging!!!
Danke.
