The Youth Coalition (YC) and the Youth Against AIDS Network (YAAN) are hosting the Africa Advocacy Workshop aimed at young people working on issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Africa. The workshop will focus on enhancing the skills of young people working in this area to lobby and advocate for changes at national, regional or international level. In addition, the training will focus on building the capacity of participants to design and manage effective advocacy campaigns within their own communities aimed at changing attitudes or behaviours that negatively affect the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people.

Workshop Description:
The Youth Coalition (YC) and the Youth Against AIDS Network (YAAN) are hosting the Africa Advocacy Workshop aimed at young people working on issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Africa.
The workshop will focus on enhancing the skills of young people working in this area to lobby and advocate for changes at national, regional or international level. In addition, the training will focus on building the capacity of participants to design and manage effective advocacy campaigns within their own communities aimed at changing attitudes or behaviours that negatively affect the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people.
The eight-day training will provide thirty young people from throughout Africa an opportunity to interact, learn from one another and establish continental connections that will assist them in their work. All selected applicants will be fully funded to attend the workshop.
Attached is the application form for this workshop. Please note that YC and YAAN are keen to receive applications only from those who:
- fall between the ages of 16 – 29
- are affiliated – either full-time or as a volunteer - to an organization working in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights (including HIV/AIDS)
- live and work in Africa
