The Nigeria Chapter of Teachers Without Borders is commencing the training of
teachers, volunteers, religious and youth leaders to serve as HIV/AIDS education
teachers. The program is designed to raise competent persons to join the on-going
war against the spread of HIV/AIDS - the killer disease without borders -
ravaging Africa.

The program is being organized in collaboration with the Rivers State Action
Committee on AIDS (SACA), and will commence in Port Harcourt before the end of
August.

The HIV/AIDS Education is based on an integrated educational approach, but
focuses on prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS. The education program prepares
teachers to teach students how to live without HIV/AIDS, and promotes what we
call SAVE SEX for SPOUSE (SSS) strategy, otherwise refered to as Chastity before
Marriage and Fidelity in Marriage.

To participate in the training also are members of the NYSC working on Mass
Literacy in Port Harcourt, as well as members of the Religious Youth Service -
Nigeria. The program will inspire the mobilization of 1)Teachers Against AIDS 2)
Corpers Against AIDS and 3) Churches Against AIDS.

Thereafter, successful graduates of the program shall recieve the Teachers
Without Borders' Certificate of Teaching Mastery.
Holders of the certificate shall join our nationwide network of mobilization of
144,000 Teachers for the Rebirth of Nigeria. Being aware of the non-prescriptive
nature of condom and all its obvious failure rates and effect on the spread, the
TWB-Nigeria HIV/AIDS Education does not recommend the use of condom, as it
ultimately promotes sexual promiscuity among young people, and prevents human
increase and multiplication (reproduction) among adults. The program shows that
prevention is the best cure to the spread of HIV/AIDS, and the best and absolute
prevention strattegy is SAVE SEX METHOD - chastity before marriage, HIV/AIDS Test
before marriage and Fidelity in Marriage.

Therefore the TWB HIV/AIDS Education encourages the building of a culture of
living without HIV/AIDS in Africa. The program is expected to be carried out in
all other states of Nigeria.
