Case studies, assignments, role-plays and group exercises will characterise training methodologies and proceedings of the workshop. * Portrayal of HIV/AIDS by commercial media.
* Sensitising and balancing of content
* How do HIV negative journalists cover HIV/AIDS?
* Dealing with stigma
* Media ethics on covering HIV/AIDS issues
* The political policies around HIV/AIDS
* HIV/AIDS and Pharmaceutical companies
* The race and gender question
Course fee is R850-00 a day, inclusive of course material and catering
during the day.
While recognising the experience of participants, the course will help
participants to understand the role of direct and indirect stakeholders -
fellow staff, sources of news and the general public regarding the HIV/AIDS
issues in South Africa.
