Centre for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP)

The Officer will be responsible, amongst other duties, for the design and implementation of all capacity building activities, the training of trainers courses and for working closely with stakeholders in the community to address the issue of domestic violence.

CEDOVIP is a registered NGO working in Kawempe Division, Uganda, to promote women's rights.

Key responsibilities are:

. Design, plan and implement all Capacity Building activities:
. Facilitate Training of Trainers (ToT) courses, seminars and other trainings for Police and Health Care resource persons and provide extensive follow up support to training participants.
. Build relationships with professionals and decision-makers in various sectors.
. Build capacity of staff, volunteers and other partners.
. Work closely with schools in the community to address the issues of Domestic Violence
. Provide timely comprehensive reports as stipulated by the Center.
. Adhere to all administrative, financial and management policies set for the Center.
. Organize and manage learning events.
. Assist the Local Activism staff in building capacity of volunteers.
. Represent the organization in various forums.

Qualifications for position:
. At least three years NGO experience, preferably in human rights programming
. A holder of first degree in a relevant field
. At least 30 years of age
. Good knowledge and awareness of gender issues
. Fluent in Luganda and English
. Excellent writing skills and computer skills Key qualities and competencies
. Good verbal and written communication skills
. Comfortable in front of groups and enjoys working with people
. Documentation and report writing skills
. Result oriented
. Articulate, persuasive and convincing
. Creative and able to take initiative
. Able to learn quickly from experiences
. Good interpersonal skills
. Good at networking
