The Non Profit Partnership in conjunction with Tlhavhama Training Initiative will be hosting a one-week training course on Financial Sustainability for CBOs, NGOs and government officials working with these structures in Limpopo. This is a newly established training programme, aimed at addressing the current needs of the sector.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
Financial Sustainability Training takes the organisation beyond looking at financial management issues, to look at broader issues, which affect the financial sustainability of a non-profit organisation. This training will create a balance in terms of the skills required to run a healthy, Financially Sustainable organisation.

ABOUT THE TRAINERS
GORDON FREER
Gordon Freer is a lecturer in Development at Wits University and a consultant to a number of NGOs. His experience in management positions in NGOs over the years has given him a unique perspective of the challenges and obstacles facing the sector.
EUGENE SALDANHA
Eugene Saldanha is the Director of the NPP and has extensive experience in fundraising, marketing and general management. In 1998 he established the Non Profit Partnership, an association of CAF, the SA NGO Coalition and the S A Grantmaker’s Association. The Partnership’s mission is to work for the financial sustainability of the NGO sector in South Africa. He has studied law and marketing management at the University of Durban Westville and South Africa, and is currently doing an MBA at Midrand University, South Africa.
HOOSEN AGJEE
Hoosen Agjee is an accountant by profession who holds a B.Com degree and has over 15 years experience in the NPO sector.
MUKHTAR DAWOOD
Mukhtar Dawood is a chartered accountant and has been practicing for the past 12 years. He is a lecturer in Management Accounting at the University of Durban – Westville.
ANTONIO HERCULES
Antonio Hercules is an industrial sociologist by training, Antonio specialises in a few areas, foremost of which is management and organisations. He has more than 12 years experience in management and social strategy in SA. He has worked with varied client and partner organisations in Britain, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa, including UN (SA) agencies, Regional Center for Southern Africa, Woolworths, a number of national and provincial RSA government departments, Gauteng Legislature,
UCT, Wits University and a host of national and international NGOs. Antonio holds a Masters in Management (Wits) and is presently managing director of Sonke Development Agency.
