Launch of Women's Access to Health Campaign

Call For Action 2003
Governments: Take Responsibility for Women's Health!
Primary Health Care and Women's Reproductive and Sexual Rights: Where
are we today?

In this year's Call for Action the Women's Global Network for Repro-
ductive Rights (WGNRR) places women's rights to health as part of the
larger demand for a fresh look at women's health needs within the
framework of primary health care.

This Call for Action will launch WGNRR's 3 year campaign on the issue
of Women's Access To Health (WAHC).

We join the People's Health Movement to observe the year 2003 as the
Year of Alma Ata to remind UN Agencies, governments and other key ac-
tors of the WHO' s Alma Ata declaration of their promise to deliver
Health For All by the year 2000!

You can access a copy of the Call for Action and sign up to be an ac-

sations everywhere let us join forces to bring about change !

Together we can make a difference !

"Health is a social economic and political issue and above all a fun-
damental human right. Inequality, poverty, exploitation, violence and
injustice are at the root of ill health and the deaths of poor and
marginalized people... "

(Excerpt from Charter for People's Health)

Women's Access to Health Campaign is elaborated in close collabora-
tion with the People's Health Movement.
