VACANCY FOR AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Thandanani Children’s Foundation (TCF) is a well-established NPO situated in Pietermaritzburg. KZN.
The present Director has been in the organisation for 8 years and is leaving at the end of March 2004.
TCF therefore wishes to employ a new Executive Director of calibre and with experience in the NPO sector and children’s issue; who is dynamic, a powerful leader and is business minded.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or equivalent
A tertiary qualification e.g. MPH or MBA would be an advantage
A minimum of 5 years in a senior management position in an NPO or business or government environment which should include at least 3 years in Fundraising and Financial Management

Experience
· In organisational administration and policy development
· In local and international travel and fundraising administration
· In Human Resource Management and legislation
· In designing, developing and evaluating community programmes
· In financial systems and management for a budget not less than SAR 4 million
Competencies
· Excellent communication verbally and in writing at all levels
· Be fluent in English and Zulu
· Have a sound knowledge of how NPO’s operate and have an in depth knowledge of community and children’s issues.
· Be a strategic thinker and visionary
· Be a highly motivated self starter
· Be able to negotiate at all levels
· Have a sound knowledge of legal and administrative procedures

This challenging position offers a competitive salary and all benefits and the successful candidate will be expected to enter into a performance agreement with the organisation.
