CEDOVIP is a registered NGO working in Kawempe Division, Uganda, to promote women's rights.
Key responsibilities are:
. Develop and implement all Advocacy activities.
. Plan and implement Radio programs.
. In charge of raising awareness about human rights, domestic violence by writing newspaper columns, articles, pamphlets and information packs for different stakeholders
. Organize seminars and give support to religious leaders in the community.
. Work closely with journalists and editors to improve the portrayal of women in the media.
. Organize and manage public events such as '16 Days of Activism'.
. Work closely with local leaders in the community and give support to them as they deal with domestic violence in the community.
. Work closely with civil society organizations through networking and collaborations.
. Adhere to all administrative, financial and management policies set for the Center.
. Provide timely comprehensive reports as stipulated by the Center.
Qualifications for position:
. At least three years NGO experience, preferably in human rights programming
. A holder of first degree in a relevant field
. At least 30 years of age
. Good knowledge and awareness of gender issues
. Fluent in Luganda and English
. Excellent writing skills and computer skills Key qualities and competencies
. Good verbal and written communication skills
. Comfortable in front of groups and enjoys working with people
. Documentation and report writing skills
. Result oriented
. Articulate, persuasive and convincing
. Creative and able to take initiative
. Able to learn quickly from experiences
. Good interpersonal skills
. Good at networking
