POST OF EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

National Union of women with disabilities of Uganda (NUWODU) is an
indigenous umbrella organization of women with disabilities that brings
together all categories of women with disabilities including the physically,
sensory and mentally impaired women purposely to have a strong voice for
common cause, particularly to defend, protect the rights and advocate for
equal opportunities for women and girls with disabilities.

NUWODU is seeking to recruit a suitable person to fill the post of an
Executive Secretary.
The successful person will be responsible for the following,

1. Be the head of the Secretariat and supervise a team of Staff.
2. Oversee and coordinate the planning, implementation, management of all
NUWODU programmes.
3. Spearhead Resource mobilization for NUWODU programmes.
4. Design and implement programmes aimed at influencing and promoting
mainstreaming of women and girls with disabilities agenda into programmes
of government and other service providers.
5. Advocate and lobby for the inclusion of concerns of girls and women with
disabilities in the mainstream government and Non-governmental programmes at
all levels of social stratification.
6. Network and collaborate with key stakeholders in the areas affecting
Persons with disabilities and women with disabilities.

**Qualification and Experience**

Honours degree in Social Sciences /Humanities/ Gender or its equivalent.
A minimum of three years experience of working with People with disabilities
(knowledge of working with women with disabilities will be an added
advantage).
Should have interpersonal relations
Must be computer literate.
