Graduate FMRS Fellowships
New competitive fellowship opportunities are available for qualified applicants to The graduate Diploma in Forced Migration and Refugee Studies. The FMRS Diploma is designed to meet the needs of individuals whose professional, research or academic interests focus on issues of forced migration, refugee studies or population and migration generally.
Duration: FMRS Fellowships are awarded for one academic year of full-time study comprising four required courses and two electives for a total of 18 university credit hours. The Fellowship may accommodate part-time study as well.
Award: All FMRS Fellows receive a waiver of tuition. International fellows (non-residents of Cairo) may also be eligible for a monthly stipend, a housing allowance, medical service and health insurance fees coverage. As a part of the fellowship, fellows are assigned 18 hours per week of related academic or administrative work with the program.
Eligibility: Prospective applicants must meet the University graduate admission requirements, including a B.A. or B.S. degree with an overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, “Gayyed Giddan” for graduates from Egyptian national universities or a recognized equivalent. The University’s language requirements must also be met (TOEFL with TWE score of at least 550 and 4.5 or the ELPET equivalent). Professional experience and background will be considered.

Deadlines:
May 1st, 2005 For fellowships beginning the following September, selection of the fellowship recipients is made by May 30, 2005.
September 1st, 2005 For fellowships beginning January 2006. Selection of Fellowship recipients is made by October 15, 2005.
