ADVOCACY PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR – Global Campaign for Education

heard by those in power? Do you have experience of co-ordinating and
supporting advocacy across a number of countries? If so, read on…

GCE is entering an exciting period of growth in 2006. This includes
the continuation of our innovative project 'Real World Strategies,
which builds the capacity of civil society groups to advocate for the
right to free quality public education . Working with regional
partners ANCEFA (African Network Campaigns for Education for All) and
ASPBAE (Asia-South Pacific Bureau on Adult Education) since 2003 in
around 25 African and Asian countries, it has made a significant
contribution to our goal of building a worldwide coalition holding
governments to account for the promise to deliver Education For All by
2015. We have now secured a five-year funding agreement with the
Netherlands government to continue and expand the project – including
launch of RWS in Latin America.

We are therefore seeking a dynamic and committed Advocacy Project
Co-ordinator to play a vital and demanding role in co-ordinating all
project partners to work together to achieve objectives. Based in our
new Secretariat office in Johannesburg, the post-holder will also
ensure synergy with GCE's core campaigning and lobbying activities
with regional and global institutions. This is an exciting opportunity
to join a leading coalition with a track record of strong, innovative
global campaigning.
