Course on International Financial Institutions (IFI) Macroeconomic Issues
Invitation for applications for participation
Date of Course: 10 – 14 July, 2006
Deadline for applications: 23 June 2006
Venue to be advised
The need for a strong civil society voice in economic and social justice issues can never be over-emphasized. Yet one of the major constraints to CSO effectiveness in this area has been the lack of capacity to articulate the issues. The first PRSP processes were some of the early evidence for the clear need to build and strengthen CSO capacity to influence these processes. Since then, civil society organizations from across the continent have called upon AFRODAD to take further its research findings and recommendations to build and strengthen CSO capacity to understand the IFI macroeconomic issues to ensure that future PRSP processes are more effective.
In this respect AFRODAD has designed a “Macroeconomic Training course” for civil society organizations in the economic and social justice movement and is inviting applications from interested persons to participate in this week-long exercise. The course will be covered under four different modules whose outline will be sent to candidates expressing interest.
If you are interested kindly send your CV, a brief background of your current work and a motivation statement (? Pages) on how you can benefit from such a course. The contact persons are Moreblessings Chidaushe [email][email protected] [2] and Vitalis Meja [email][email protected] [3] The deadline for all applications is 23 June, 2006.
The course will be held from 10-14 July, 2006 and you will be advised of the venue in the near future. Participants will be expected to pay for their travel to and from the course venue. AFRODAD will provide accommodation and meals.
