Pact's Community REACH team is pleased to announce the release of Request for Applications (RFA) #03-C-1. Under this RFA, Pact anticipates awarding on a competitive basis between five to seven subgrants focusing on Reducing Stigma and Discrimination through Innovative and Proven Effective Approaches for a total of US$ 750,000. Community REACH Announces Release of New Request for Applications

Reducing Stigma and Discrimination through Innovative and Proven Ef-
fective Approaches

Pact's Community REACH team is pleased to announce the release of Re-
quest for Applications (RFA) #03-C-1. Under this RFA, Pact antici-
pates awarding on a competitive basis between five to seven sub-
grants focusing on Reducing Stigma and Discrimination through Innova-
tive and Proven Effective Approaches for a total of US$ 750,000. The
purpose of the RFA is to disseminate information about Pact's Commu-
nity REACH Project for the management of HIV/AIDS sub-grants to pro-
spective PVO and NGO grant recipients in order to provide them with a
fair opportunity to submit applications for funding.

The RFA describes the project objectives, explains the technical area
of focus, details the process and criteria for evaluating applica-
tions and provides information on funding, cost-share requirements,
application format and other relevant information.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1) Proposed activities must be implemented in one or more of the 20
participating USAID-designated Rapid Scale-up or Intensive Focus
countries.
2) Organizations must have either a current presence in the country
for which they are applying to conduct a project or partner with a
local NGO in-country.

Information will also be available at Pact and, its partner, the Fu-
tures Group International field offices. Community REACH is a five-
year, USAID funded program designed to facilitate the efficient flow
of grant funds to organizations playing valuable roles in the fight
against HIV/AIDS, including PVOs, regional and local NGOs, universi-
ties and faith-based organizations. Funded activities will be consis-
tent with USAID's goal of "increased use of improved, effective and
sustainable responses to reduce HIV transmission and to mitigate the
impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic."
