A well-established international programme involved in the treatment
and care of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) announces an opening
for Programme Administrator.

The Centre for Special Studies-Nigeria is an international
collaboration between the Centre for Special Studies-New York,
a top-tier AIDS care center based at New York Presbyterian/Weill
Cornell Medical Center in the United States, and two clinic sites
based at teaching hospitals in Sagamu and Ile-Ife.

The position provides an outstanding opportunity for the right
individual to participate in the growth of a dynamic programme,
and to work with a variety of medical, public health, policy,
and community development professionals.

Requirements

- The Programme Administrator will have clear responsibilities for
achieving the Centre's goals - to build a multidisciplinary programme
providing care and treatment to PLWHA; and to strengthen the Nigerian
health sector's response to the AIDS crisis.

- The required candidate must
* Above all, be committed to improving the lives of people living with
HIV/AIDS;
* Exhibit a creative, ambitious approach to work, and a capacity to grow
this initiative significantly in the following year;
* Show great analytical and practical diligence, and an ability to
develop and implement programmes, which require the participation of
multiple stakeholders;
* Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, including
the capacity to communicate with a range of audiences, such as medical
professionals, health care administrators, government officials, NGO
directors, as well as community residents.
* Be computer literate, and adept at operating word-processing,
spreadsheet and basic accounting software programmes;
* Be able to prepare financial accounting and written reports in a
timely and consistent manner.
* Be willing to travel;
* Possess good professional judgment, high ethical standards, and a
sense of collaborative spirit.

Qualification and experience

Person must be a University graduate, with a preferred background in
public health, medicine, social work, nursing, community development
and/or public administration;

Several years of relevant professional work experience in the health
sector or an NGO environment is desired;

Experience working in the area of HIV/AIDS, and a familiarity with the
issues affecting PLWHAs would be an added advantage

Renumeration
