Description of the Position:

Behavior Change Specialist for family planning and reproductive
health - Washington, D.C.: Worldwide - with special focus on Latin
America, Asia and the Near East, Eastern Europe, and the NIS.

Estimated Length of Assignment/Duration: 5 years.

DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a Senior Level Program Officer to scale up
family planning and reproductive health services. The Specialist will
be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and manage-
ment of BCC activities and programs for a large, five year, USAID
funded project. S/he will coordinate and collaborate with other donor
funded Family Planning/Reproductive Health contractors working in the
regions. The Specialist will spend up to 40% of his or her time in
the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates will possess: Advanced degree in communications,
relevant social science, public health or an equivalent combination
of education and experience.
10+ years experience in the planning, executing and evaluating behav-
ior change programs, with at least three years experience involving
similar scope and levels of responsibility.
Substantial technical experience in one or more of the regions, pref-
erably including several years with USAID or with USAID-funded pro-
jects, and in at least three of the technical areas addressed by the
project: family planning, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, and sexually
transmitted diseases.
5 years residency in at least two countries in the ANE, ENI, and/or
LAC regions in a professional capacity. Excellent spoken and written
English. Demonstrated capacity to oversee development of work plans,
monitoring and evaluations, and reports as well as working in col-
laboration with government counterparts, donors, NGOs and community-
based organizations worldwide. Excellent spoken and written English;
Spanish is highly desirable.
