HEAD OF GOVERNANCE DEVELOPMENT
The major responsibilities of this challenging senior management position include: Accountability for all processes and standards of governance across ActionAid International and the continual development of these standards for the International Secretariat and its Affiliates Strengthen capacity of the International Secretariat and its Affiliates to ensure high standards for governance of the organisations and strengthen technical aspects of core agreements between the International Secretariat and its Affiliates Performance assessment of National and International Boards Candidates should have the following competencies: Direct experience working in and with national or international Boards of non profit organisations Proven management experience in non-profit or civil society organisations Strong networking/relationship building and communication skills Experience within the international development environment as well as in cross-border operations Fluency in both oral and written English and preferably skills in another international language

HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND OD
Key responsibilities of this exciting senior management position include: Development and continual reviewing of global HR policies and auditing of effectiveness of implementation Lead internal communications and integrate gender awareness throughout ActionAid International Manage leadership and staff development Manage the international staff contract management system Appropriately qualified applicants must have the following competencies: At least 5 years experience in HR and OD management at a senior management level within an international development context as well as solid experience in HR policy development and implementation Proven experience in leading, supporting and motivating staff and teams as well as effective communication skills and substantial experience in managing OD processes Ability to negotiate and influence change with sensitivity and commitment to ActionAid’s mission and values

HEAD OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
Key responsibilities of this varied senior management position include: Set up and maintain appropriate financial procedures and systems in the Secretariat Office. Ensure that the ActionAid International Secretariat Office is set up and managed efficiently to support effective functioning of the International Secretariat Supervise the administrative and logistic functions in the International Secretariat Create and manage effective links with external agencies, including government and statutory bodies. Applicants must have appropriate financial accounting qualifications and the following competencies: 5 or more years experience at a management level, preferably in a development organisation, dealing with accounts, budgets, proposals, taxation and other statutory and legal requirements of government Good interpersonal communication skills as well as management skills and experience in a small team Good knowledge of computerised accounting packages as well as Excel, Word, email and Windows. Database experience would be an advantage Self motivation and ability to work independently is essential and candidates must be fluent in English and show commitment to ActionAid’s mission and values

ACCOUNTING OFFICER The incumbent will assist the Head of Finance and Administration in the set up and maintenance of the financial procedures in the International Secretariat office as well as in ensuring their effective functioning. Applicants must have appropriate financial qualifications and at least 5 years proven financial experience within a development organisation. Working knowledge of computerised financial and spreadsheet packages is essential Good interpersonal, communication and English written and oral skills are also essential

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT Key responsibilities will include: Liaison at a senior level with the International Management Team and Board of Trustees; Preparation of documentation for meetings; Taking minutes at various meetings, including Board meetings; Diary management for Chief Executive; Assisting Chief Executive with correspondence, report writing and production; Arrangement of local and international travel and other logistical staff requirements. Applicants must have appropriate secretarial qualifications. An undergraduate degree would be an advantage. At least 5 years experience working as an Executive PA with senior management staff within a development organisation is essential, as are excellent English oral and written communication skills. Candidates must be highly computer literate, and have excellent email and internet experience.

HR ADMINISTRATOR Key responsibilities will include: Assisting the Head of Human Resources and OD with all general HR functions; Administering contracts of all international staff globally as well as staff of the International Secretarial; Develop the international staff database and monitoring system; Administer staff induction, orientation and recruitment processes. Applicants must have 3-5 years experience in personnel management and HR administration. They should also have some familiarity with computerised HR database systems.

RECEPTIONIST/FRONT DESK
The successful candidate will manage the front desk of the International Secretariat, which will include all usual reception duties. They will also take on a variety of administrative tasks including filing, typing, e-mailing and various logistical arrangements. Applicants must have appropriate secretarial or receptionist/administrative qualifications, and proven front desk/reception experience, preferably within a development organisation. They must be well presented, with good spoken and written English skills and a good telephone manner. Some administrative experience, including typing and filing is required, and they must also be computer literate.
