The Sudan Organisation Against Torture has launched its eighth annual report on the human rights situation in Sudan. Through SOAT’s extensive work inside Sudan, including the provision of legal aid, medical treatment and documentation of human rights abuses, this is a definitive account of the human rights situation inside Sudan. The report concentrates on the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, (CPA), the human rights situation in Darfur region, torture and ill-treatment, freedom of expression and human rights defenders. It emphasis the current situation of internally displaced persons living in official camps and the estimated 1.5 million distributed in different squatter settlements and peripheral areas of Khartoum.
