The Zimbabwe Democracy Trust (ZDT) today announces the launch of the new site - "an amalgamation of many different websites on Zimbabwe - has been built in order to assist the Trust's efforts in restoring democracy and the rule of law to Zimbabwe.www.zwnews.com will provide extensive news coverage as well as pertinent information on all major issues currently facing Zimbabwe and its people."

The new site - an amalgamation of many different websites on Zimbabwe - has
been built in order to assist the Trust's efforts in restoring democracy
and the rule of law to Zimbabwe.

www.zwnews.com will provide extensive news coverage as well as pertinent
information on all major issues currently facing Zimbabwe and its people.
It will also carry regular exclusives commissioned from local Zimbabwean
journalists on the ground. Additionally, the site will be host to numerous
appeals for those who wish to donate funds, and will also have a bulletin
board announcing local and international events. It will also provide a
list of further reference material, including books, videos and other
websites.

www.zimbabwedemocracytrust.org, the original ZDT website, will no longer be
carrying any news feeds but will still exist - only now it will cover the
workings of the ZDT alone.

"In creating www.zwnews.com, we hope to provide all those people concerned
with the current crisis unfolding in Zimbabwe with a broad, accurate and
extensive information bank. This site will cater to governments, NGOs,
students, journalists, businessmen, as well as ordinary individuals wanting
to keep up to date with what is taking place in the country.

"One day, when everything has settled down in Zimbabwe and the rule of law
has returned, www.zwnews.com will be seen as the world's leading archive on
reference material about Zimbabwe; it has been created with this very much
in mind. The people committing these crimes in Zimbabwe today must one day
be accountable; www.zwnews.com will have all the evidence that is needed to
eventually bring them to book," said a spokesperson for the Trust.

The ZDT has the simplest of goals: to help the democratic will of
Zimbabwean people flourish. Backed by respected international figures with
a connection to, and love for, Zimbabwe - businessmen, statesmen, diplomats
and politicians from across the spectrum - the ZDT exists to advance the
cause of freedom and democracy.
