The Rhodes University's Department of Journalism and Media Studies invites Mid-career media workers and journalists who are seeking the opportunity to engage in full-time postgraduate study are invited to apply for the following Scholarships:

The Belgian Technical Cooperation Programme Scholarship
This scholarship is for full-time post-graduate study towards the Rhodes Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Studies in 2005. A number of scholarships are available to applicants who are citizens of an African country outside South Africa who have considerable journalistic experience and currently hold an executive position in the media.

The Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa Scholarships offers funding for five Southern African women journalists or media leaders for studying full-time at post-graduate level (Honours & Master of Arts). Applicants must be women media workers or media academics who are leaders or potential leaders in the field of media from Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia.

The Rhodes Department of Journalism and Media Studies Post Graduate Degrees in Media Studies will suit university graduates who are eager to explore areas of Journalism & Media Studies in greater depth and are capable of independent study. Both bursaries offer a rare opportunity for professionals and teachers to expand their understandings of media theory and research and then to return to their countries and contribute there.
